Mrs.
Alday’s 4th Grade News
Week of October 13-17, 2014
This week, we are focusing on:
- Math – We are focusing on comparing decimals to the hundredths. Please consider purchasing multiplication flash cards to help your child at home. It’s much easier for them to solve these problems when they know their facts.
- Reading – We are beginning to read Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. We are focusing on character, setting, and events (plot).
- Social Studies – We are learning about life in Europe during the Aztec and Incan Empires.
- Science – We are reviewing all previous standards and testing in Galileo.
Important Dates:
- October 15th – Cookie Dough Fundraiser begins!
- October 24th – Harvest Fest
- October 31st – Dollar Dress Down Day
Additional Notes:
- Homework will now be given in weekly packets. The same amount of work will be given including the reading log. All homework needs to be returned each Friday.
- Please make sure to sign up for a parent teacher conference.
- Please have students bring in a sweater to wear inside the classroom. It gets cold in here pretty fast. Also, please make sure to bring in water bottles especially on PE days which are Tuesday and Friday.
- Please monitor your student’s grades on Family Link. The website is https://schoolmaster1asp.tylertech.com/LPA/FamilyLink.
- Please remember to sign and return your child’s Weekly Behavior Progress Report. Please see me if you have any questions.
- My blog is now up and running. I will post spelling words and the weekly newsletter at www.mrsaldaysclass.blogspot.com.
- If you have a question, contact me at dalday@lpatucson.org.
Thank you!
Mrs. Alday
