Alday’s 4th Grade News
Week of November 3-7, 2014
This week, we are focusing on:
·
Math – We are comparing fractions with like and
unlike denominators. Please consider purchasing multiplication flash cards to
help your child at home. It’s much
easier for them to solve these problems when they know their facts.
·
Reading – We are reading Tales of a Fourth Grade
Nothing. We are comparing and contrasting the theme of traditional stories.
·
Writing – We are learning about prefixes, suffixes
and root words.
·
Science – We are learning how to interpret data.
Important Dates:
·
November 11th – NO SCHOOL! Veteran’s Day
·
November 26-30 – Thanksgiving Break! NO SCHOOL!
·
December 8th – Field trip to the Desert
Museum
Additional Notes:
·
Homework is now assigned in a weekly packet and is
due Friday along with the reading log. Students need to be reading for 20
minutes every night.
·
Please have students bring in a sweater to wear
inside the classroom. It gets cold in
here pretty fast. Also, please make sure
to bring in water bottles especially on PE days which are Tuesday and Friday.
·
Please monitor your student’s grades on Family Link.
